Clipsal Digilant® security camera range
Two clever new compact digital security cameras designed primarily for small commercial or home installations have been released by Clipsal Integrated Systems.
These are latest generation, ultra low power, digital surveillance cameras that capture high-resolution colour images when motion is detected within their field of view. The Clipsal Digilant 5480DSAC is a standalone surveillance camera that can also be used as a security camera by simply connecting it to an alarm system. The Clipsal Digilant 5480DCSD is specifically designed to connect to an alarm system and as such, can function as a low cost alternative to a CCTV system.
The 5480DSAC and 5480DCSD cameras are identical in appearance to the Clipsal Digilant ® PIR Motion Detector, making it impossible for intruders to distinguish between a camera and a detector. The camera captures the stored images as jpgs and the software allows you to stream them at the speed you would like to view them (from 1 to 100 frames per second). This allows you to view all the images quickly on a PC or PDA selecting the ones of interest. These can be printed at a quality not obtainable from still shots taken from video.
As a standalone unit, the 5480DSAC can operate for up to 6 weeks on its own internal high capacity battery, for up to 1 week on internal battery backup, or it can operate on an external mains plug pack. A range of accessories is available for both units including the Clipsal Digilant® PIR Motion Detector, Battery Charger & Software. Both units complement the existing Clipsal Homesafe range of security panels & accessories, or as a direct replacement for existing alarm system motion detectors.
