A safer, cleaner way to deal with stubborn light bulbs
If you ever have a stubborn light bulb that just wont come out, and you know the only way you are going to get it out is to smash it, Graham Labone has found a way to do it safely and cleanly.
Rather than risk small pieces of glass going everywhere when the bulb shatters, Graham has found that by placing a plastic bag over the bulb and holding it tightly around the base while he breaks the bulb, all the glass fragments are contained inside the bag which can then be removed and disposed of easily.
Graham has tried using a cardboard box but finds the plastic bag works much better. Once the glass has been disposed of inside the bag, long nose pliers can be used to grip the light bulb cap and remove it from the base.
Thanks Graham, and congratulations! You have just picked up an easy $250 courtesy of The Olex Cable Guy.
